Chris Desjardins is the Co-Founder and Senior Executive Officer of Tungsten, which provides secure, regulated digital assets custody for leading institutional investors. Chris manages a team of world-class experts from Tungsten’s headquarters in the UAE and guides the business as it continues to scale. He draws on extensive experience across digital assets and various technology businesses in his leadership role.
Before his role at Tungsten, Chris co-founded Big Index, a Canadian technology company that developed innovative crypto wallet solutions. Brane Digital Asset Custody subsequently acquired this business, and Chris became Head of Products before becoming Chief Technology Advisor.
In the early part of his career, Chris spent nearly a decade as a researcher at the University of Ottawa’s Collective Intelligence Lab, leading development work in computational semantics. He contributed to several publications, including a Wiley computation and information economy book. Simultaneously, he served as the President of Ictinus Inc., leading a team of skilled designers and programmers to develop custom software for public and private sector organisations. Through these experiences, Chris identified an opportunity in the construction industry and established a platform called Punchtime, successfully acquiring customers across North America and Europe.
Chris holds a degree from the University of Quebec and a Graduate Certificate in Design and Computation from Concordia University. In addition to his work for Tungsten, Chris is an active technical reviewer for O’Reilly books.
