Recognized in the industry for being a business expansion and growth strategist, Emmanuel De Smedt recently joined as the Managing Director of Al Muqarram Industry in Dubai, UAE. After the takeover of Al Muqarram Industry by Soudal Group in 2020, he moved in January 2022 to the U.A.E. to lead the affiliate and develop and grow the business in M.E.A. (Middle East & Africa) region. He is focused on expanding the product range with sustainability at the core and to steer the business into the league of top construction chemical players in the region.
In a career graph spanning over 16 years within the Soudal Group, Emmanuel has demonstrated a successful stint in starting up and growing companies profitable in emerging markets in Asia & the Americas such as India, Thailand, Vietnam, Peru, Mexico, Chile, Brazil & USA. His professional journey flagged off as a Business Development Manager in Soudal HQ in Belgium where he contributed to create and develop subsidiaries in the Americas. In 2010, he moved to New Delhi (India) to represent Soudal in the newly create Joint Venture company McCoy Soudal where he led product development, marketing, and internal and external communications. He went on to become the Vice-President for Sales & Marketing in 2012 where he led and established the JV’s greenfield production unit to help grow the business into a profitable one.
