B&B Italia teams with golfing legend

Greg Norman and B&B Italia to design classic contemporary interiors.

The interiors of the signature villas on the Jumeirah Golf Estates will be based on the four elements: Fire, earth, water and wind and an additional fifth style will be influenced by B&B Italia's contemporary range, the Maxalto Collection.

The 66 ‘Rosewood' villas have been designed by the golfing legend, Greg Norman and will feature interiors by Italian design firm, B&B Italia Contract Division, which specialises in furnishing complete commercial projects such as hotels, offices and retail spaces as well as cruise liners.

Greg Norman said: "I have been very hands-on with the design of Rosewood as I am with all of the projects I undertake. It has been great to allow my imagination to run free in a new direction with the design of these homes."

B&B Italia will provide an on-site design centre to allow buyers to choose between optional packages which will help them design and fit out the whole house based on the five signature styles.

Roberto Barbazza, marketing director of B&B Italia said: "The design centre will allow clients to choose a theme as well as mix and match styles. Generally we expect the client to choose various aspects of different designs to reflect their personality."

The Maxalto-inspired villas will feature contemporary classic interiors with a fusion of European and Arabesque. On the design of the B&B Italia villas Barbazza said: "The lighting scheme was inspired by the lighting at the Madinat Jumeirah for a hint of Arabesque but the large tiles in the bathroom and kitchen as well as marble cladded walls and generous use of oak will add to the typically Italian feel."

The Maxalto Collection features three ranges: The SIMPLICE, APTA and AC, all of which have been designed by Antonio Citterio. Each collection is a modern twist of a contemporary classic with a heavy emphasis on wood and leather combined with steel in earthy muted tones such as grey, brown and black.

Technology is an important part of the design, with high-end entertainment specialist, Bang & Olufsen equipping all of the villas with state-of-the-art electronics.

These will include the BeoSound 9000 multi-CD music system, a 40" BeoVision 7 LCD television in the living room, a 32" BeoVision 7 LCD television in the master bedroom and a pair of BeoVox 1 ceiling speakers in the breakfast area.

Each villa will have a basement ranging from 60-250m which will be customised but could include a mini bowling alley, a virtual golf system or a studio. All villas will have views over Greg Norman's ‘Fire' themed golf course.
