UAE business guru Badr Jafar will join some of the region's "most innovative business minds" on the judging panel of The Bahrain Award for Entrepreneurship.
Badr Jafar, the founder of The Pearl Initiative and managing director of The Crescent Group, will be a judging panelist at Bahrain’s largest entrepreneurship award next month.
The Bahrain Award for Entrepreneurship, which is designed to recognise the contributions of entrepreneurs to Bahrain's economy, will be decided by some of the region's "most innovative business minds.”
Those include Prince Khaled bin Al Waleed Al Saud, businessman and entrepreneur, representing KBW investments, Wamda's chief executive Habib Haddad, and Flat6Labs Abu Dhabi managing director Nina Curley, among others.
The panel will be deciding on awards in five categories – the Micro-Enterprise of the Year, Start-up of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Sustainable Business Award, and a People's Choice Award.
All applicants are to be evaluated on the basis of their enterprise growth, economic impact, optimisation of talent and diversity, leadership and innovation, business responsibility and entrepreneurial spirit.
During the first of the two rounds within the judging procedure, the technical committee will filter four finalists per category and will interview the 20 semi-finalists individually.
The second judging round will see the judges evaluating the entries independently to determine the five finalists.
The technical committee will then calculate cumulative scores and ranks to determine the award winners for each category.
The award is held under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of Bahrain Economic Development Board.
