Bahrain bank launches first drive-in ATM

Cash machine innovation is first of many planned, bank chiefs reveal.

An Islamic bank based in Bahrain has launched its first drive-in cash machine facility for customers.

Abdul Rahman Mohamed Turki, general manager, Retail Banking Services at Bahrain Islamic Bank revealed that the ATM service at the Muharraq Club Fuelling Station, in Muharraq would be the first of many.

He said the innovation was part of the bank's continuing strategy to improve its services and products for customers.

Turki said: "This step comes as part of the bank's efforts to expand its ATM network throughout the Kingdom. We have launched the first drive-in ATM in Muharraq to serve a large number of our customers in the surrounding areas."

He added that the bank would shortly launch a number of drive-in ATMs throughout Bahrain as part of the bank's expansion plan.
