Bahrain has launched seven offices in the UK, China, Russia, France, Germany, India and Saudi Arabia intended to boost tourism to the country.

The tourism promotion offices offer special rates for visitors, according to Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority chief executive Sheikh Khalid Al Khalifa.

“For instance, if a person buys his own ticket and hotel, the price might be 40 per cent different than buying the package we’ve prepared,” Al Khalifa was quoted in Gulf Daily News as saying.

“So we talk to travel agencies on a daily basis to ensure that they know about these packages.

Bahrain receives around four million visitors each year. It is home to the Bahrain International Circuit where the annual Bahrain Grand Prix takes place.
