A restaurant in the Bahraini capital of Manama has been damaged in a blast caused by a gas leakage, it was announced on Thursday.

Bahrain's Ministry of Interior posted the incident on its Twitter account, the UAE's state news agency WAM reported.

According to the Bahrain News Agency, no injuries were reported, but several shops and cars were damaged at the site.

The ministry said necessary steps are being taken to investigate the incident. No further details were given.
