Jeb Bush, brother of George W, has taken a seat on the advisory board of a unit of Bahrain-based alternative investment firm Investcorp
The brother of former US President George W Bush, has taken a seat on the advisory board of a unit of Bahrain-based alternative investment firm Investcorp.
Investcorp announced that its Strategic Capital Group (SCG) has entered into a partnership with Dock Square Capital, an advisory and merchant banking firm founded by former US Governor Jeb Bush.
Investcorp launched SCG in late 2018 to partner with, and acquire minority equity stakes in, established mid-sized alternative asset managers, including private equity, private debt, real estate, venture capital and hedge fund managers.
The new unit is led by Anthony Maniscalco, who joined Investcorp along with a team from Credit Suisse's Anteil Capital Partners in October.
“Our partnership with Dock Square will allow us to establish and deepen our relationships with top alternative investment managers,” said Rishi Kapoor, co-CEO of Investcorp. “They will further act as a resource for managers as we work with them to expand their franchise and enhance their longevity.”
A statement said Bush will serve on SCG’s strategic advisory board, adding that Dock Square will act as a resource to SCG through its broad network and extensive expertise across government, financial services and executive management.
“I have known the team at Dock Square for many years, having worked with several of the partners. I am excited to partner with them as we continue to build our Strategic Capital Group and create a further differentiated approach to our partnerships with managers,” said Maniscalco.
“I am very excited to partner with Investcorp and SCG in their effort to build a premier minority staking platform focused on mid-sized firms,” added Bush. “We believe strongly in this attractive and growing segment of the GP staking market and believe SCG is pursuing a differentiated approach. We look forward to doing all that we can to support SCG’s efforts to build a best-in-class platform.”
