People can take part by purchasing collectables for AED35 and selecting six unique numbers
Residents in the UAE will have a chance to win AED35 million ($9.5m) every week with the launch of the Emirates Loto.
According to the website, participants must purchase a collectable for AED35, either online or at retail stores across the UAE – a delivery fee is charged when ordering online.
A collectable must be purchased. Emirates Loto states on its website: “As per the Islamic Fatwa and Sharia principles, there needs to be an exchange of value. You can buy the collectable for collection purposes only and decline the option to enter the free entry to the draw.”
Each card allows people to register a unique six-digit number, each between one and 49, or this can be generated randomly for you – matching three numbers entitles you to a free game, four numbers will win you AED300, five numbers will win you up to AED10m and if all six numbers are matched, you walk away with the AED35m jackpot.
If more than one person matches five or six numbers, the prize money will be split accordingly.
The first draw will be held on Saturday, March 28.
Live draws will take place at 7.30pm every Saturday, participation closes two hours prior. The draw will be televised on local channels, live streamed on the Emirates Loto website, and then the numbers will be displayed online.
