UK-based
Barclays Bank has appointed Makram Azar as managing director and head of its
investment banking division for the Middle East and North Africa, the bank said
in an emailed statement on Wednesday.

Azar joins
Barclays Capital, the investment banking arm of Barclays Bank, from Kohlberg
Kravis Roberts and Co. (KKR).

He
previously spent 18 years at Lehman Brothers where he was global head of
sovereign wealth funds.
