Batelco upgrades Bahrain broadband packages

Bahraini telco and ISP Batelco is on a mission to improve its customer retention rates by giving its internet package customers a variety of automatic service upgrades.

Bahraini telco and ISP Batelco is endeavouring to improve its customer retention by giving its internet package customers a variety of automatic service upgrades.

Customers who subscribe to Batelco’s BD30, BD40 and BD60 broadband internet packages will benefit from a range of price cuts, improved connection speeds and other extras.

“By continually updating users’ broadband packages, Batelco is catering to the demands of all our customers by taking into account their budget, internet personality and lifestyle,” said Batelco’s general manager of corporate affairs, Ahmed Al Janahi.

“These enhancements come as a direct result of Batelco’s commitment to providing the best quality of service to its customers, providing them with a comprehensive range of packages that give unlimited access based on fair usage policy to use the internet and connect to the world,” Al Janahi added.

Customers who currently subscribe to Batelco’s BD30 service - which offers connection speeds of up to 512Kbps - are being handed a price cut of BD5 and thus will now pay BD25 per month.

Batelco’s BD40 and BD60 subscribers on the other hand will benefit from what the organisation claims is “even more speed than previously and greater flexibility”. Namely, users of the BD60 service will see their post-capacity threshold connection speed decreased to 128Kbps - rather than the previous 64Kbps, plus this capacity will also be raised by 25%, from 20- to 25Gbytes. BD40 customers meanwhile will receive the same post-threshold speed upgrade.

Batelco will also provide exsiting and new BD60 and BD40 customers with free wireless routers and Norton Internet Security software when they sign a year’s contract. BD25 users agreeing to a twelve-month service contract will receive Norton’s software.

Further details are available from Batelco’s broadband web page and Batelco’s Inet telephone helpdesk (+973 17 881188).
