Users across the Europe, Middle East and Africa who want to improve their IT skills can now do so easily and quickly thanks to Dell, which has teamed up with Thomson NETg to offer a range of online courses.
The firm cites demand from customers as the reason for this e-learning push. It is providing what it claims are comprehensive and easy-to-follow online and instructor-led courses at affordable prices immediately.
Designed to help students improve their professional and social IT skills, the courses cover everything from PC applications and operating systems through to finance management, personal development, and digital picture editing. Course prices start from US $18 and are available immediately.
Each training module includes post-assessment tests to help users verify their learning, plus in order to suit users with irregular schedules, Dell’s training packages can be used over any period of time.
For example, if someone is working full-time and has a family, they can spread out their course over a period of a year, while a retired user with time on their hands might want to complete their chosen course within a month.
“Keeping up-to-date with IT software packages like Microsoft Word and Excel is important to get ahead in work-life, however other things like learning how to surf the internet or upload images from digital cameras to PCs are just as important,” commented Tony Reilly, dead of communications, Dell Services, Dell EMEA.
“Learning how to e-mail, for example, can really help grandparents keep in touch with grandchildren and learning about security on the internet helps parents ensure their kids are kept safe whilst surfing,” Reilly added.
Surfers can browse and subsequently purchase courses by visiting www.learndell.com/euro. Once they have bought a course, users have up to one year to access and complete it.
