BEACON RPM offers hope to well operators

INTEQ and Knowledge Systems have introduced the BEACON Remote Pressure Management (RPM) service. Based on drilling analysis of wellbore pressure and stability, the BEACON RPM service is designed to help operators reduce costs by reducing unproductive time. “The BEACON RPM resources are available under three tiers of service to provide a flexible approach to the operator’s wellbore pressure management needs,” said Bob MacDonald, INTEQ Vice President of Operations, North America.

The Drillworks Predict software is intended to help avoid blowouts, lost wells, kicks, stuck pipe, unneeded casing strings or liners, and lost circulation. Downhole drilling and evaluation measurements are transferred from the well via the RigLink data distribution system, providing the user with drilling data which is then relayed to the BEACON Expert Centre for drilling analysis.

“Our engineers manage the real-time data stream, update predictive models and interpret the formation pressure scenarios for a detailed understanding of the downhole pressure environment,” explained Tim Campbell, INTEQ Manager of Surface Logging for the Gulf Coast Area. “This analysis is made available to the operator staff to meet their drilling goals.”
