Belkin's shocking announcement

Connectivity solution provider Belkin has identified a potential issue with its Universal AC Travel Adapters, which could lead to consumers who incorrectly use these devices experiencing an electric shock

Connectivity solution provider Belkin has identified a potential issue with its Universal AC Travel Adapters, which could lead to consumers who incorrectly use these devices experiencing an electric shock.

Those adapters with the part code F8E449ea do not pose any risk if used correctly, Belkin claimed today in a press statement, however should these adapters be used incorrectly, there is what Belkin terms a risk that, “in the event of making contact with the live exposed pin, the user will experience a 220V or 240V shock”.

Belkin is asking all owners of these adapters to contact its European Customer Service Department using the following freephone telephone number: 00 800 223 55460. The firm will then organise product returns and customer reimbursements.
