BenQ claims UAE projector boost

BenQ has jumped four places to secure the number two position in the UAE projector market, according to research by Decision Tree Consulting (DTC).

BenQ has jumped four places to secure the number two position in the UAE projector market, according to research by Decision Tree Consulting (DTC).

The company’s research into BenQ’s projector sales between the beginning of August and the end of October this year also noted a marked – but currently undisclosed by BenQ - sales increase over the previous quarter.

According to a BenQ press statement, the firm has also recently secured the number five projector spot in the Asia-Pacific region.

Having now overtaken Sony, HP and Toshiba in the UAE, BenQ claims its projector sales are particularly strong in the government and education sectors, thanks to a number of significant recent deals.

“The UAE has been a priority market for BenQ’s projector division this year, and we’re pleased to hold the number two position – and a very strong market share – for the third quarter of this year,” said Manish Bakshi, general manager, BenQ Middle East.

“We have a number of new projectors ready to be launched over the next few months, including an exciting range of ‘Light Brigade’ mobile products, and we hope that they will further increase our stake in this market,” Bakshi added.

Further explaining how the region’s overall projector market is growing, Bakshi concluded: “We have witnessed strong growth in the home theatre market, which shows a direct response to modern projectors providing better-quality images and becoming smaller and easier to use, and importantly, more affordable.”

Last month, BenQ cited research by Decision Tree Consulting (DTC) when claiming that it had secured the number one position in Saudi Arabia’s digital projector market, with a 25 percent share of projectors sold in Q2 of this year.
