Bharat Heavy lands $38mn UAE deal

Indian energy equipment maker bags Ras Al Khaimah order for two gas turbine generating units.

Indian energy equipment maker Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd said on Monday it had received an order for two gas turbine generating units of 42 MW each, valued at 1.5 billion rupees ($38 million).

The order is from Al Ghail Power LLC, a wholly owned unit of Ras Al Khaimah Investment Authority of the United Arab Emirates, it said in a statement.

The Middle East is a key export region, and BHEL aims to increase its overall exports by six times by 2012, it said.
