BHI to up its inventory in the UAE and Qatar

\n

Bavaria Hotels International (BHI) has revealed plans to build three new properties, one in Qatar and two in the UAE, in a bid to provide much-needed inventory in both burgeoning markets.

The three properties; the 2100-suite Bavaria Executive Suites Dubai, in Media City, the 2200-suite Bavaria City Suites Doha, situated in the West Bay area of Qatar, and the 350-suite Bavaria Executive Suites Sharjah, will flood the market with 4500 rooms over the next two years.

“The phenomenal development in the Gulf region, specifically the UAE and Qatar, make this a highly interesting market in which to develop and operate hotels of this size and calibre.

The active involvement of the governments in creating exciting destinations, favourable return on investment and economies of scale are particularly conducive to such projects,†explained Thomas Gertz, CEO, BHI.

“We are, however, looking at many other potential destinations, in the region and further afield. We expect to make some major announcements in the near future.â€

All three properties will feature extensive meetings facilities and will primarily cater to the corporate travel and meetings and incentives markets.

However at the Qatar property in particular, due to open next year, leisure travellers and families are also well catered to.

“Development of the leisure market in Qatar has been restricted due to lack of available accommodation,†said Gertz.

“Current hotel occupancies are extremely high, making it difficult for international tour operators to obtain inventory.

However, due to the the vision and dedication of both Qatar Airways and the Qatar Tourism Authority, interest remains high, and Bavaria City Suites Doha has been well received by the international travel market as a product that will open up availability and increase interest in the destination,â€
