Dubai-based Danube Properties chairman Rizwan Sajan on Wednesday named his fourth brand ambassador saying having a star gives his product a higher “brand recall” value.

Bollywood star and former Ms Universe Sushmita Sen will take over the role from actress Shilpa Shetty.

“It is more of a brand recall value that I have brand ambassadors for. It is nothing to do with they [actors] increasing our sales. Customers’ buy our products because of the quality that we offer. These brand ambassadors, however, gives us that recall value,” he told Arabian Business.

The developer has, in fact, replaced its brand ambassadors every year, having previously had cricketing legend Sunil Gavaskar and actress Juhi Chawla as the 'face' of the company.

Sen will be endorsing $109 million (AED400 million) Miraclz project in Arjan and another one project slated for launch next month, Sajan said.

Other Bollywood actors endorsing Dubai real estate projects are Shah Rukh Khan and Sohail Khan.

In 2016, TV and Bollywood superstar Anil Kapoor purchased a two-bed apartment in $81.74 (AED300) million Ritz project in Al Furjan.

Indians invested over $3.27bn (AED12bn) in Dubai real estate in 2016, according to Dubai Land Department.
