Following the announcement of his new boxing school, the Mike Tyson Academy (MTA) in Dubai, legendary fighting champion Mike Tyson will host a gala dinner on May 6 at the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai to reveal the “undisputed truth” about his vision for the academy and the reasons that led him to launch it.
Dubbed “In Conversation with Mike Tyson,” the dinner will feature special celebrity guests, an auction and of course, a conversation with the boxing icon.
“I have learned a lot of things throughout my boxing career. Some I’ve learned the hard and painful way. My hope is to be able to pass on the best trainings I’ve gained to the next generation of athletes,” Tyson said.
Commencing at 7:30pm, the event will also celebrate the international launch of the franchise of MTA, which has garnered global interest with fitness centers set to open in the Middle East, Australia, France, West Africa and China.
“Through the Mike Tyson Academy, and the support of all these international entities that share our goal, these fitness centres will be available for the global community to use and take advantage of. I’m extremely grateful to be part of it and excited for it to positively contribute to the fitness journey of our clients,” he said.
Guests who attend the dinner can expect a three-course dinner as well as an exclusive meet and greet with Tyson, who will conduct a live signing session of all items to be auctioned on the night.
Renowned French sculptor Jean Baptiste Seckler, who has created one-off pieces for Lady Gaga, Barack Obama, and Michael Jackson, will also fly in for the event to present one-off Mike Tyson sculptures to be signed on the night.
The event will take place in collaboration with Fred Frenchy Corp and Fashsouq.com.
Guests can also look forward to entertainment from local star Layla Kardan.
