Brazilian footballer José Roberto da Silva Jr has signed a two-year deal with Qatari club Al Gharafa, it was confirmed on Sunday.

The 37-year old midfielder, commonly known as Ze Roberto, will leave his current team, German club Hamburg, and is likely to finish out his career in the Middle East.

According to the AFP news wire, Roberto will go to Qatar on a free contract, after the German club only offered him a one-year extension on his contract.

The Brazilian previously played for German clubs Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen and hold the record of 336 games in the German Bundesliga, the most by any foreigner player in the league.

At Al Gharafa, Roberto will replace fellow Brazilian Antônio Augusto Ribeiro Reis Jr, who is returning to play for Rio de Janeiro club Vasco da Gama.
