Hardware vendor Acer will be showcasing its full range of products at the upcoming GITEX Business Solutions show, including its recently announced new TravelMate and Aspire notebook releases.
Acer is a firm supporter of the exhibition, having attended pretty much every year of the show since it began, Krishna Murthy, general manager for Acer Middle East tells GITEX Business Solutions Preview.
"The show is a very important event in the region for ICT. So as an IT company, we view this as an opportunity to showcase our technical capability in terms of product innovation and also embedding the real technology and bringing it to the market," he says The show also helps boost product sales because it provides a separate sales cycle, Murthy suggests.
"One of the unique aspects of the show is its Shopper event so there is a lot of demand generated by the visitors and the local market," he claims.
Acer will be focusing on its three key areas - convergence, mobility and the enterprise - during the show.
The IT vendor has focusing intensively on its mobility product range of late, a move that it claims has resulted in the company becoming the market leader for notebooks in the Middle East.
According to IDC for example, Acer Middle East presently commands a market share of 24.2% and has achieved year-on-year growth of 50 per cent.
As well as running live demonstrations of its entire product range from its show booth in Office Technology & Supplies, Acer will also welcome business managers to discuss specific customer issues in a one-to-one environment. The company's team also tells GITEX Business Solutions Preview that it is planning to roll- out numerous promotions and deals for visitors to the show.
"GITEX Technology Week is all about the visitors." Murthy continues. "We want to make the exhibition about our customers and more than satisfy the demands they place on us, be it for products or for IT support."
