Building work starts on Abu Dhabi waterfront project

Bloom Properties, the Abu Dhabi-based property and lifestyle development arm of National Holding, on Monday announced the beginning of construction of its premium waterfront development in Al Bateen.

Abu Dhabi Marina will host luxury residences, executive serviced apartments, hotel, cafes and restaurants, the company said in a statement.

The project features 225 residential apartments, ranging from one to four bedroom units, a five star hotel comprising 200 rooms and 57 executive serviced apartments, 3,000 sq m of premium waterfront retail and parking spaces.

Bloom Properties said it has contracted Al Shafar General Contracting (ASGC) for Abu Dhabi Marina's enabling work.

Bloom said: "With real estate prospects soaring in the emirate, we are proud to have played an important role in the development of the real estate market in Abu Dhabi. The rapidly-developing sector will play an increasingly important role in the economic development of the country."

Bishoy Azmy, CEO of Al Shafar General Contracting, added: "We are happy to execute this exceptional project in a prime location in Abu Dhabi. ASGC has a track record for delivering upscale hospitality projects and we anticipate further opportunities for collaboration as the booming real estate market spurs further growth in the tourism sector.

Bloom Properties has a portfolio of residential and commercial towers, retail and leisure centres and gated residential communities in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Dubai. It has also announced projects in Iraq and Algeria.
