Automation and artificial intelligence is driving the most significant business shift in a generation; leaders must be agile and purpose-driven
Digital transformation and boardroom diversity are amongst the top business trends of 2019, according to the Page Executive Trend Report. Now in its fourth edition, the report identifies trends that the C-Suite must be ahead of in 2019.
“Business is facing the most significant shift in a generation – the rise of artificial intelligence and automation – and the most agile companies are going to great lengths to become more empathetic, purpose-driven, diverse, open and understanding of people’s wellbeing. In short, more human,” said Steve Ingham, CEO of PageGroup.
One of the key trends highlighted is how technology is elevating people’s potential; according to a study by Forrester, more than 60% of global executives believe their company is falling behind on digital transformation. The key lies in treating data as an asset; businesses need to decide whether to be digital transformation pioneers, early adopters or followers.
Other issues examine how millennials are making workplaces more human by demanding flexibility, bringing values into play and harnessing the power of feedback.
“We look at millennials in management and how they are changing the world of work. We also consider the relationship between executive board and C-suite, revealing how CFOs are the link between the two and the counterweight in balancing short-term results against long-term vision,” Ingham said.
