Roasters Specialty Coffee House, Dubai’s celebrated joint for coffee connoisseurs, is gearing up for a massive expansion, which will see the chain spreading its footprint with new outlets across the city, in other emirates of the UAE and beyond in the wider Middle East region.
Roasters is also poised to lead the way into the future of coffee in Dubai and beyond, with each of its new coffee shops scripted to offer a distinct ambiance and menu, pampering its surging number of customers with a more diverse selection of coffee origins, sourced directly from coffee hubs worldwide, besides its signature 24k gold coffee or the rare Jamaica Blue Mountain brew.
The coffee chain, founded by Ukrainian serial global entrepreneur Ivan Kroshnyi along with fellow investor Konstantin Harbuz, will kick off its ambitious expansion programme with a special opening event for its new addition in the expansion list – which will be its sixth outlet – at Dubai Harbour in May.
The opening of Roasters Specialty Coffee House Beachfront at Dubai Harbour will be followed by another three more outlets at various prestigious locales of Dubai in quick succession.
“We’e using our own money to open these new branches, making sure each one stays true to our brand,” Ivan Kroshnyi, co-founder of Roasters Specialty Coffee House, told Arabian Business.
“We’re also planning to expand to other places in the UAE and the Middle East in the near future,” Konstantin Harbuz, the other co-founder of the chain, said.
From an old villa in Dubai’s Jumeirah to build a ‘coffee empire’ in Middle East

The Roasters story of origin resonates with similar humble origins of some of the global biggies like Microsoft, founded by two college buddies, Bill Gates and Paul Allen, in a two-car garage in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Kroshnyi and Harbuz’s paths crossed in early 2021 in Dubai, when the latter was already working on developing a new coffee venture in the city and the fellow Ukrainian serial entrepreneur was looking for a tangible business for his new investment.
“We are happy and delighted that what began as a passion project in an old villa in Jumeirah with a $1 million investment just a little over three years ago has now blossomed into one of the top players in the specialty coffee scene in the UAE,” the co-founders said.
“Their partnership epitomizes synergy, with each partner complimenting the other’s strengths,” is how a Dubai-based head of a global consultancy, who wished not to be identified, described the duo’s entrepreneurial journey.
Today, Roasters Specialty Coffee House stands as one of the flagship leaders in Dubai, boasting two production facilities, six locations and a team of over 120 staff members.
Kroshnyi, however, attributes the success of the Roasters chain to its focus on how customers are treated to an array of flavors that exceed expectations.
“Following the resounding success of the Jumeirah establishment, the decision was made to expand the business to encompass all of the city’s most prestigious locales,” he said.
The co-founders said Roasters locations in Dubai are meticulously chosen.
“Each venue boasts spacious luxury design, providing customers with a holistic dining experience, complemented by a diverse selection of over 20 coffee origins, sourced directly from coffee hubs worldwide,” they said.
Harbuz said central to Roasters’ success is its dedication to specialty coffee.
“By specializing in the highest-grade coffee beans globally, Roasters ensures an exceptional taste profile that captivates the senses,” he said.
To establish new benchmarks of quality and innovation
Harbuz said the aggressive expansion plan is in line with their ambition and efforts to enhance Dubai’s – as also that of the region’s – coffee culture and establish new benchmarks of quality and innovation in the industry.
“With its blend of luxury, quality, and passion, Roasters will be poised to lead the way into the future of coffee in Dubai, and in the Middle East,” he said.
The Roasters co-founder disclosed that its specialty coffee undergoes a meticulous cultivation process in specific regions, coupled with a medium roasting style that enhances its aroma and nuanced flavor notes.
“The popularity of Roasters in Dubai reflects its professional approach and unwavering passion for the product.
“Our success is rooted in delivering an exceptional experience,” Kroshnyi said.
He said the company is excited to announce its big plan to open lots of new branches all over Dubai.
“Our goal is to spread our company’s idea of making Dubai’s coffee scene even better by setting new standards for quality and creativity.
“The main goal is to increase coverage across as many areas in Dubai as possible with unique coffee house concepts,” Kroshnyi said.
Besides coffee, Roasters also serve a slew of desserts.
“Our desserts are a highlight as they are crafted solely from natural ingredients.
“From signature San Sebastian cheesecake to gluten-free options, there’s something to please every palate,” Harbuz said.
Beyond their successful coffee venture, the two entrepreneurs from Ukraine have established a group of companies, spanning diverse sectors, including construction and finance, in the UAE.
