Cable contract win for L&T in the UAE capital

US $52 million contract will see supply and installation of power and fibre optic cables.

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured a contract worth US $52 million (AED190 million) from the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA) for the supply and installation of 33kV power cables and fibre optic cables for inter connecting various substations in the eastern region of Abu Dhabi.

L&T will supply and install 33kV cables and fibre optic cables as per the specification of the consultant, Lahmeyer International.

The scope of the underground cabling contract includes design, manufacture, supply and installation as well as testing and commissioning of 33kV cables and fibre optic cables, including associated civil works, covering 11 substations for the reinforcement of the power distribution network to meet the increase in power demand from current and new customers.

The contract will be executed within 18 months.
