Canadian firm to consult Abu Dhabi project

Canada's Forrec is set to be leisure and attraction consultant on $3bn Entertainment City Qatar project.

Abu Dhabi Investment House (ADIH) has appointed Canada's Forrec as leisure and attraction consultant to its $3 billion (QAR 10.9 billion) Entertainment City Qatar project.

Under the terms of the agreement, Forrec will conduct a feasibility study on various components of the project and manage investments.

This will include providing information on the different designs within the project, operations, cost and the integration of these elements with the masterplan of the project. Forrec will also assist ADIH in selecting suitable operators to the different components of the project, attract investors, and identify marketing and promotion activities.

Entertainment City Qatar is part of the $5 billion Lusail development north of Doha.

"Forrec was one of many companies and consulting agencies that approached us to develop the project," said Mahmoud Naib Chief Development Officer of Abu Dhabi Investment House.

"It was evident that Forrec had the capability to execute our development program within the specified timeframe."

Forrec is also designing the theme park and port district for the Aqua Dunya project in Dubailand.
