Canon has issued an EMEA-wide product advisory covering several of its photocopier products manufactured and marketed between 1987 and 1998, following its discovery that these may pose a smoke or even a fire risk.
The models include: the Canon PC6, PC7, PC7RE, PC11, NP1010, NP1020 and NP6010.
Canon’s advisory comes after the firm discovered a faulty connection related to the internal power cord of the copiers’ fixing unit heaters. According to Canon, this problem could have occurred at the time of manufacture or during servicing.
