Majid Al Futtaim Carrefour has launched a donation drive initiative, in partnership with the Emirates Red Crescent, for shoppers in the UAE who want to support victims of the two devastating earthquakes in Nepal.

Carrefour has set up dedicated shelf stands with a range of specially selected products including dry, long lasting and high energy foods, hygiene products and shelter blankets, being sold at heavily discounted or cost prices.

Shoppers can purchase items and place in donation boxes within the stores, which will then be packaged and flown to those in need in Nepal by the Emirates Red Crescent.

The donation drive is running in Carrefour Hypermarkets located in City Centre malls at Deira, Mirdif and Sharjah, in Carrefour Mall of the Emirates and Carrefour Airport Road, Abu Dhabi, as well as at Carrefour Supermarkets at Al Wasl Road, Dubai, Oasis Center, Dubai and Al Qoz, Sharjah, until May 31.

Eric Legros, CEO, Majid Al Futtaim Retail, said: “The donation drive offers UAE shoppers a chance to participate in providing much needed assistance to victims of the Nepal quakes.

"We developed the initiative in partnership with Emirates Red Crescent and our Nepalese employees, who form part of our diverse workforce, to support relief efforts at this critical time.”
