Clear your diaries, start planning your entries and prepare yourself for the best night the facilities management industry has even seen. Proudly announcing the launch of the first ever facilities management Middle East Awards.

On Monday 9 June 2008, a five star hotel in Dubai will see the facilities management market celebrate its success stories, steal the spotlight and recognise and reward those individuals and companies that provide the region with first-class facilities management.

While the region's construction boom enjoys continuous attention, the work that people perceive as behind the scenes is often overlooked, undervalued and misunderstood.

Except facilities management it's not always behind the scenes. It's the smiling security guard who meets and greets you every morning when you leave for work; the conscientious concierge that opens the door for you when entering a hotel for a meeting and the technician that was called to fix the broken air conditioning to ensure you have an optimum temperature to work in.

On a more strategic level, it's the person who reduces the amount of office space needed by implementing hot-desking, ensures you are complying with municipality laws, manages and negotiates contracts and reduces costs through implementing innovative and forward thinking best practice.

The gala dinner event will attract around 200 industry specific professionals, including developers, service providers, building owners and contractors.

Think you've got what it takes to wow the judges and beat the competition? There are 15 awards up for grabs...
