Chinese network equipment maker beat bids from Cisco Systems and Nokia.
Oman Telecommunications Co (Omantel) has awarded China's biggest network equipment maker Huawei a OR10m ($26m) contract, a tender board official said on Thursday."Huawei won the Next Generation Network (NGN) contract to extend the Omantel coverage," the official told Reuters.
Huawei beat bids from US equipment maker Cisco Systems Inc and Alcatel-Lucent, as well as the world's largest mobile phone maker Nokia, he said. (Reuters)
