The sale will focus on art from the Middle East
A Christie’s auction will take place in Jumeirah Emirates Towers on October 20,2015.
The auction will feature Private Collections of Modern and Contemporary Art from Middle Eastern countries like Dubai, Beirut, Baghdad, Palestine, Iran, and Egypt.
The sale will focus on the region’s art over the past 90 years.
From the UAE, five works by artists Fateh Moudarres, Nazir Nabaa and Maamoun Al Homsi will be showcased.
From Beirut, the Moughanni Private Collection will represent Modern Lebanese painting by featuring Paul Guiragossian and Elie Kanaan.
Christie’s will also present paintings of Palestinian artist Asim Abu Shaqra to honour the 25th anniversary of his death.
As for Iran, Manoucher Yektai’s work will combine post-modernism with his Persian culture.
Works by Egyptian artists Mahmoud Saïd and Effat Naghi will also be featured.
Prior to Dubai, a selection of 10 works by artists Zenderoudi, Yektai, Farmanfarmaian, Al-Azzawi, Nabil, Douaihy, and Maine-Daftary will be previewed at Christie’s New York.
