Cisco Systems is helping regional companies boost productivity levels at this year’s show with the introduction of a number of products for converged IP networks. Foremost among these offerings is Cisco Unity and Cisco Personal Assistant, both of which form key components of the vendor’s architecture for voice, video and integrated data (AVVID) initiative.“At Gitex we are fulfilling our promise to continually innovate our product offering to meet the changing needs of our customers,” says Roger Levenhagen, marketing manager, Cisco Systems Middle East & North Africa.Designed to deliver convergence-based communication services, such as voice and unified messaging, on Windows 2000 and Exchange 2000, Cisco Unity is a unified communications solution that allows users to listen to their e-mail over the telephone, check voice messages from the internet, or forward faxes to any local fax machine from any location.Cisco Unity also works alongside Cisco Personal Assistant, which streamlines communications by helping users manage how and where they want to be reached through personal call rules, speech recognition, and productivity services. Additionally, the product offers a variety of interfaces that are easy to use and modify, without administrator assistance.
