Citibank-Gulf Air seal 'frequent flyer' deal

Gulf Air frequent flyer programme members to have beneficial access to Citibank investment products.

Citibank and Gulf Air on Monday unveiled a new promotion in which Gulf Air frequent flyer programme (FFP) members will be rewarded with free miles for investing in Citibank investment products.These miles can then be redeemed for upgrades or free tickets to any of the locations Gulf Air serves.

In a statement, Citibank Bahrain CEO Mayank Malik said, "We have timed this promotion with the summer travel season to maximize the value to our clients."

Gulf Air Director Customer Services, Ruth Birkin added, "With enhanced features of our FFP, members can access their account online at their convenience, check their statement, redeem miles and add family members at any time of the day or night."

Nice to see these two failing entities getting together. You can't trade your Gulf miles for anything, and since Citibank is teetering on the brink of collapse it is clear these two are clinging to falling stars.
