Software firm Cognos has been ranked the leading business intelligence software supplier by an international business magazine. The firm was ranked the leader among business intelligence and corporate performance management vendors on Business 2.0’s annual 100 list.

The firm was ranked the leader among business intelligence and corporate performance management vendors on Business 2.0’s annual 100 list. Every year, Business 2.0 ranks companies on inventiveness, quick reflexes and highlights companies that are setting the pace for the global economy. With a 27% increase in license revenue in fiscal year 2005, Cognos was recognised as driving demand in the business intelligence industry for software that helps companies drive, monitor and understand corporate performance. “It is our commitment at Cognos to provide customers with the highest quality products and services. Since its inception, Cognos has been dedicated to putting the right people, processes, and best practices in place to ensure that our customers get superior value and quality from us. We follow established software engineering practices in the conceptualisation, design, planning, and construction of our software products,” said Graham Walter, vice-president, Cognos UK, Middle East and Africa.This year’s list was compiled from 2,000 publicly traded technology companies. Criteria for inclusion was based on companies that have been trading for at least three years, register annual revenues of at least US$ 50 million, and have a positive cash flow situation for the most recently reported 12 months.
