Global agency takes minority stake in Bates Pan Gulf’s public relations unit
Global agency Cohn & Wolfe has announced that it has bought a minority stake in one of the Middle East’s leading public relations firms, Bates Pan Gulf (BPG).
The size of the deal, which is undisclosed, will see Cohn & Wolfe tie up with BPG’s public relations unit, BPG pr.
The partnership – called BPG Cohn & Wolfe – will be based in Dubai, with offices in Abu Dhabi, Baghdad, Doha, Jeddah and Kuwait, with affiliates in Cairo and Muscat. It employs 34 professionals from thirteen countries.
BPG Cohn & Wolfe will provide public relations and marketing services to a number of blue-chip clients, including Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Visa International and the Alshaya Group.
“Engaging in this new relationship will add significant value and further impetus to what is already a successful and growing public relations business at BPG,” said BPG group CEO Avi Bhojani, in a press statement.
The move extends Cohn & Wolfe’s offering in the Middle East, and follows a recent expansion in the Asia Pacific region.
“Cohn & Wolfe is looking forward to ensuring that the synergies between our two businesses offer our global clients stronger services in the MENA region while providing clients of BPG pr with an opportunity to benefit from our global network and international expertise,” said Donna Imperato, CEO of Cohn & Wolfe.
