Companies join forces to combat security threats

Network Associates and Internet Security Systems have joined together to deliver integrated Internet security products and services.

Network Associates and Internet Security Systems have announced a partnership to deliver integrated Internet security products and services. The companies intend to provide customers with solutions that detect, prevent and respond to today’s increasingly complex spectrum of Internet security threats. As part of the deal, Network Associates will combine RealSecure intrusion detection technology - from Internet Security Systems - with network fault isolation and performance management technology from Sniffer Technologies. In addition, Internet Security Systems will combine Network Associates’ McAfee anti-virus technology with its RealSecure products, and provide a managed security services offering. The correlation of disparate events from these various technologies should provide customers with better protection from hybrid threats. “This alliance is a result of our maniacal focus on delivering world-class technology to keep our customers' networks secure and available,” said George Samenuk, chairman and chief executive officer of Network Associates. “Integrating our market-leading technology, Network Associates and ISS will look to create the industry's strongest options for defending against the full spectrum of hybrid Internet threats.”
