Etisalat's e-business subsidiary, Comtrust teams up with local partner, Afkar Information Technology to promote the value of online business.
Comtrust, Etisalat’s e-business subsidiary, is extending its market influence across the region. Comtrust teamed up with local partner Afkar Information Technology to host an e-Business Forum in Doha.“There is a growing trend of organizations realising the need to integrate e-business strategy with their traditional lines of business,” says Ahmad Abdul Karim Julfar, general manager of Comtrust.“Success in the digital economy brings with it many new opportunities for organisations to communicate and interact with their customers. However, there is much more to e-business than merely extending a new sales and marketing channel,” he adds.The eBusiness Forum is designed to tackle local issues and promote the value of online business. “E-business encapsulates all aspects of utilising the internet in all business processes,” says Saoud Al Shamsi, Sales Manager, Comtrust. “Organisations need to identify the opportunities and challenges in a wide array of areas including online security, management of business applications, e-payments and managed services, if they are to succeed in the new economy. Companies that utilise the services and solutions that Comtrust provides, can take advantage of our technical expertise, experience and resources in this field,” he adds.The Doha forum is the initial stage of Comtrust’s campaign to take its e-business portfolio to the local market and build its pan-Gulf customer base. In 2002 the Etisalat subsidiary made considerable headway in building its regional business, signing clients in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Pakistan, and Jordan.
