Drake & Scull International says phase two of construction of the Sabah Al-Salem University will be completed by year-end
Drake & Scull International (DSI) on Monday announced the completion of phase one of construction of the Sabah Al-Salem University in Shadadiya, Kuwait.
The Dubai-based company said the second, and final, phase is expected to be handed over before the end of the year.
Under the terms of the contract, DSI said it undertook the construction, operation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical and plumbing works.
The university’s new campus in Al-Shadadiya received last week the first batch of its students for the new first semester of 2019-2020 academic year.
Dr Hamed Al-Azmi, the Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education in Kuwait, said that the opening of six faculties came in line with the plan of transition and operation approved by the higher council of the university, adding that it is one of the most important development projects the country.
DSI has been operating in Kuwait through its subsidiary, Drake & Scull for Electrical Contracting, since 2004.
