Developer Imkan has awarded Sogea Maroc a AED300m contract to build the first phase of Le Carrousel
Abu Dhabi-based developer Imkan has awarded Sogea Maroc a AED300 million contract to build the first phase of Le Carrousel, a mixed-use project located in Rabat, Morocco.
A high-end destination on the coast of the capital city, the subsidiary of French group Vinci has been hired to build the residential areas, seafront promenade, and over 40 retail outlets across Le Carrousel.
This is the first contract to be awarded for Le Carrousel but Imkan said it is finalising partnerships for construction of the shopping mall and hotel, which will be released in the coming days.
Le Carrousel features residences within an exclusive private community, including a seafront promenade, boutique hotel and the first open-air shopping mall in Morocco.
The project will cover an area of over 10 hectares, with more than 30 percent reserved for green spaces.
Sogea Maroc has been active in Morocco since 1930.
Imkan CEO, Walid El Hindi, said: “When choosing a construction partner, whether here in the UAE or globally it is important that we work with a company that shares our beliefs and ethos to deliver to the highest standards, and importantly, on time.
"We work with world-class partners across our international sites and we’re proud to collaborate with the Vinci group and Sogea Maroc in Morocco. We are confident that our new partner will play a pivotal role in the seamless delivery of Le Carrousel.”For all the latest construction news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
