The civic body says strict procedures ensure control of all traded food
Dubai Municipality on Sunday clarified that the alleged video of mold found in a Baskin-Robbins store was not filmed in Dubai or the UAE.
The response comes after a video was posted on social media, with the person taking the video putting the blame on the municipality for lack of food control.
In a statement on its social media accounts, the civic body said it has an integrated system consisting of strict procedures to ensure control of all traded food in the emirate.
“After exploring the issue and communicating with the company, the department found that the video wasn’t filmed in Dubai or even in UAE, but in some other GCC country.”
The municipality said it uses a self-monitoring method on food institutions to ensure full compliance with all specifications and legislations adopted in the country and rebuked people for publishing any false information without confirming the source.
