Hot and dusty, with rain in the forecast for the UAE

Weather in the UAE will remain hot to very hot, but chances of rainfall are high from Thursday to Saturday, according to the Met Department.

In a tweet, the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) said moderate winds will blow dust and sand, with fog formation likely during early mornings.

“It will be partly cloudy and hazy at times with a chance of cloud formation over some eastern areas by afternoon. Light to moderate winds in general may freshen at times during the daytime causing blowing dust and sand over some exposed areas,” the weather department said.

It added that weather will remain humid during nights over the coasts and fog may form by Friday morning.

“Clouds will develop by afternoon eastward and extend to some northern and southern areas of the country with a chance of rainfall especially from Thursday up to Saturday,” the NCMS said.

Last month, a weather department official told Arabian Business that temperatures in the country’s southern and eastern areas were likely to reach higher than 50 degrees Celsius due by strong southerly winds and El Nino conditions.

The highest temperate recorded in the UAE on Monday was 51.2 degree Celsius at Mezaira, near Liwa.

The maximum temperature recorded in the country from 2009 to date has been in Al Yasat in the western region of Abu Dhabi in 2010 when temperate reached 52 degree Celsius, according to NCMS.
