China Harbour Engineering has picked up a US $40.8 million (AED150 million) contract to develop Ajman Marina's infrastructure.
In addition, a $2.4 million consulting contract has been awarded to Mouchel, which will act as managing consultants for the development works and supervise and manage the 390,000m3 of digging and piling works, and the 557,000m3 of filling works for the Marina's quay wall.
Once completed, the quay wall will extend over some 1700m. The development works will start in the third quarter of this year and be completed in 18 months.
The $3 billion Ajman Marina will offer 8000 freehold residential units, covering 1.3 million m2 of built-up area, as well as a number of commercial and entertainment facilities spanning more than 280,000m2.
Last year, projects under development in Ajman amounted to $158 million, while completed projects were valued at $136 million. In addition, there were numerous maintenance related projects, valued at $47 million, including maintenance and renewal of the emirate's arterial road network.
There were also several infrastructure projects, including the recently announced $217 million water drainage processing station project.
