Crane collapse at dubai healthcare city

Dubai Healthcare City has been hit by a second major safety scare, following the death of a worker on site last month.

Dubai Healthcare City has been hit by a second major safety scare, following the death of a worker on site last month.

Last week, a crawler crane that was transporting a hydraulic hammer along the edge of a major excavation on the site, toppled over and was dragged to the edge, injuring the driver.

In a statement, a DHC spokesman said: “The incident took place on 16th June. It was observed that the mobile crane which was brought to the site to shift the hammer for execution of a dynamic pile test had turned over and was dragged to the edge of the excavated area while carrying the hammer.

“The person operating the mobile crane was treated at a hospital for minor injuries. The crane was removed appropriately after obtaining permission from the police.” Last month a ground worker was killed when a retaining wall collapsed on him at the DHC site.
