Call centre received an average of ten calls a minute during six-hour period
Heavy fog this morning saw a total of 564 accidents in Dubai, local police said.
The Department of Command and Control in the General Department of Operations in Dubai Police received 3,564 between 6am and 12 noon.
Colonel Turki Abdulrahman bin Fares, director of the Command and Control Center, urged all drivers to follow the guidelines to ensure that that the roads are safe.
“Traffic accidents that occur during fog or in the rainy weather are very dangerous due to poor visibility,” he said.
Drivers should ensure their vehicles are properly prepared for hazardous conditions, including ensuring that the windshield is clear and that the indicators and lights are working.
