Two people were injured on Thursday night when a driver crashed his car into an ATM booth in Dubai’s Burjuman shopping centre.

The accident took place as around five customers queued to withdraw cash at the booth. An Asian man inside the bank suffered moderate injuries as a result fo the incident, Dubai Police said.

The 51-year-old Asian motorist, who was also injured, has been charged with driving recklessly and endangering lives. He lost control of his car after driving onto the pavement and swerving to the right, leading him to crash into the glass door of the ATM booth, according to Dubai Police.

Dubai Police said the driver was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs, however.
