The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has been carrying out cloud seeding operations in the clouds above the United Arab Emirates, resulting in the recent uncharacteristically rainy weather.

The UAE Research Programme for Rain Enhancement Science tweeted that the cloud seeding operations had taken place “due to the accumulation of the abundant convective clouds over the UAE in several areas (specifically in the Eastern & Southern terrains) within the last few days”.

On Sunday the NCM issued a weather forecast for the week, forecasting cloudy and rainy conditions. Below is the forecast for today and the rest of the week:

Wednesday: Partly cloudy to cloudy in general, especially over some southern and eastern areas with a chance of some rainfall.
