The five-year-old boy has been transferred to the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children until his case is solved
Dubai Police are still trying to locate the parents of a five-year-old boy who was found wandering Reef Mall alone 10 days ago, reported Gulf News.
Sources told the newspaper that the boy, who was abandoned by his mother, was abandoned again by a woman who was looking after him in Sharjah. He was found on September 7 by a Filipina who handed him over to Muraqabbat Police Station.
His case has not been referred to the Dubai Family and Juvenile Prosecution yet, according to Dubai Public Prosecution, but he has been transferred to the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children until his case is solved.
The foundation has provided the boy, who is believed to be of Asian origin, with shelter, rehabilitation and care, said Afra Al Basti, Executive Director of the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWC).
The foundation is waiting for a decision from concerned authorities including Dubai Police, who have asked for the public’s help in identifying the boy.
