UAE to avoid impact of tropical storm Hikaa - set to make landfall in Oman
The storm, which is set to bring heavy rain between 50-80 millimetres and gale winds of between 45-55 knots, is expected to make landfall in Oman's South Al Sharqiyah and Al Wusta governorates.

The UAE's National Center of Meteorology (NCM) said the country will not be impacted by Tropical Storm Hikaa, which is approaching Oman today, with landfall expected on Wednesday morning.

The storm, which is set to bring heavy rain between 50-80 millimetres and gale winds of between 45-55 knots, is expected to make landfall in Oman's South Al Sharqiyah and Al Wusta governorates.

''There is no direct impact on the UAE within the next three days,'' said the NCM in a statement. "Seawater surge over eastern coast with high tide period, and may adversely affect some low coastland areas especially on Wednesday morning."
