Traffic points will also be removed during four-month amnesty
Sharjah Police have announced a 50 percent discount on traffic fines over a four-month period.
The police authority in the emirate also revealed all traffic points will be removed from October 22 to January 31.
The decision was made at a meeting of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), which was held at the Sharjah Rulers’ Office on Tuesday
Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, commander-in-chief of Sharjah Police, said that the discount will only apply to fines committed before October 22 and will include fines for serious offences, including instances where the lives of other road users had been endangered.
Vehicles impounded in minor violations are also included in the decision.
Al Shamsi also called on motorists to take care on the region’s roads and abide by the laws in order to stay safe and reduce the risk of committing traffic offences.
