In addition to the Prophet’s Birthday, this year’s remaining public holidays include Commemoration Day on Sunday, December 1, and UAE National Day holidays on Monday, December 2 and Tuesday, December 3.


Saturday, November 9, has been declared an official bank holiday in the UAE to mark the birthday of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), according to the government.

Last week, the UAE cabinet approved and publicised national holidays in 2019 and 2020.

In addition to the Prophet’s Birthday, this year’s remaining public holidays include Commemoration Day on Sunday, December 1, and UAE National Day holidays on Monday, December 2 and Tuesday, December 3.

Next year

In 2020, the Cabinet has approved a total of seven national holidays beginning with New Year on January 1, and including Eid Al Fitr, Arafat Day and Eid Al Adha - specific dates for these will be announced nearer the time.

Next year, the Prophet's Birthday holiday will take place on October 29 while Commemoration Day will again be held on December 1, followed by National Day on December 2-3.
